Jewellers Bentley & Skinner have achieved the Planet Mark certification.
In this Decade of Action, the company want to ensure that they are a force for good: positively transforming society and the planet by reducing any negative impact on the environment.
Bentley & Skinner prioritise sustainable development through initiatives such as buying/selling antique jewelry and in-house restoration work, to protect the environment and communities. They strive to minimise their operational impact by reducing waste, using sustainable/recycled materials, conserving energy, and utilizing renewable/recyclable materials.
To strengthen its sustainability credentials, Bentley & Skinner are working Planet Mark to reduce carbon emissions and share its journey with its community to inspire others. By being more strategic about its environmental responsibility, they will be able to increase its positive impact significantly and hopes to encourage continual improvements within its community.
Through Planet Mark, the Bentley & Skinner have protected endangered rainforests thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth directly supports the Asháninka community in Central Peru.
They have also helped the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.
To recertify next year Bentley & Skinner must reduce emissions by 2.5%.
A 5% year-on-year reduction is the target reduction recommended by Planet Mark.
