This is EVORA’s eighth year of business carbon footprint reporting and certification to Planet Mark. It first calculated the carbon footprint of its London, Birmingham and Bolton site operations for the year ending August 2020.
Achieving Planet Mark is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in its business operations by measuring and reducing its carbon footprint and engaging its stakeholders. Since certifying, the company will be working to reduce its emissions by 5%.
Over the next year, it will be working towards reducing its carbon emissions and sharing its journey with its community to inspire others. By being more strategic about its environmental responsibility, the company will be able to significantly increase its positive impact and hope to encourage continual improvements within its community.
Through Planet Mark, EVORA has protected an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.
It has also helped the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.
“As a team of sustainability professionals, their know-how is undisputed, but this knowledge is coupled with a palpable passion to drive change. EVORA’s Planet Mark certification shows a willingness to apply its expertise to its own operations and walk the walk on sustainability. I applaud the company’s efforts in reducing its carbon footprint this year.”
As a sustainability consultancy for the real estate sector, EVORA does a tremendous amount to contribute to a sustainable world. As well as advising businesses on delivering end to end sustainability solutions for commercial real estate, the consultancy offers EVORA giving initiatives to positively contribute to the social side of sustainability. Its expertise helps connect sustainable solutions well beyond its own business and client base, helping create sustainable communities across the country.
The built environment contributes 20% of all the United Kingdom’s carbon emissions. With 97% of the nation’s building stock needing to be adapted to meet global climate targets, the industry finds itself in dire need of action and leadership.
To recertify next year EVORA Global must reduce emissions by 2.5%.
A 5% year-on-year reduction is the target reduction recommended by Planet Mark.
