Muddy Trowel delivers curated, pre-designed plant collections to customers. One of its aims is to enable plant lovers to sustainably fulfil their ambitions and learn more about gardening.
As part of its sustainability ambitions, Muddy Trowel ensure its partners share its commitment and level of dedication to the environment. The company explores the latest approaches to sustainability with respect to materials use, its processes and business operations.
Understanding and measuring its carbon footprint is the first step in identifying ways to minimise its impact on the planet. Over the coming years, Muddy Trowel will be working towards reducing its carbon emissions and sharing its journey with its community to inspire others.
Through Planet Mark, it has protected an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.
It has also helped the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.
To recertify next year Muddy Trowel must reduce emissions by 2.5%.
A 5% year-on-year reduction is the target reduction recommended by Planet Mark.
