We engage our employees and wider stakeholders to unlock their talent and knowledge to drive year on year progress in sustainability.
We recognise that transparent communication is essential for transformational change and we quantifiably contribute to 8 SDG.
NuServe, a company that provides Facilities Managers with convenient access to a first class team of cleaners, porters, handymen and support technicians, and supplies a carefully selected range of kitchen and hygiene supplies, has achieved Planet Mark certification.
Achieving the Planet Mark is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in its business operations by measuring and reducing its carbon footprint and engaging its stakeholders.
“NuServe has made commitments to continued sustainability. Ambition to do better by the planet should be applauded – it takes courage to make a commitment to long-term change. NuServe has the drive and tools to make sustainable change, and I look forward to continuing our partnership to bring that to life.”
“If we wish to understand why, business as usual, is no longer an option, look no further then recent news headlines: wildfires, floods, heatwaves, and the other unprecedented extreme weather events plaguing our planet. It’s time the wellbeing of life-sustaining natural ecosystems is brought to the fore of government and business decision-making, if we want to maintain the ecological balance of our planet for future generations.”
Georgina added “At NuServe, sustainability is not a tick box exercise, instead we are trying to implement meaningful systemic change across our company. We have found that many environmental issues are nuanced, and the solutions require creativity and lateral thinking.
We aim to be the bellwether in our industry and even amended our vision statement to incorporate the impact we have on people and the planet. Our goal is to reduce our carbon footprint by 10% each year and remain net neutral through offsetting. We are in the process of converting our fleet to electric and have switched to a renewable energy provider. The pandemic that crippled 2020, was a setback for our eco-journey; however, we used the time to reflect and refocus on our goals. We are also focusing our attention on decarbonising our supply chains, reducing and cutting single use plastic and collaborating with companies using circular economy principles. This is only the beginning of our sustainability journey.”
NuServe complements Planet Mark certification with a number of other sustainable measures. All of its paper products are supplied from sustainable sources, as well as a range of environmentally friendly soaps and chemical free cleaning products. NuServe is constantly looking to diversify the way its stock can reduce the impact it has on the environment through the products it chooses. This can help its clients reduce water pollution, plastic waste and air quality in their local environment.
Operational emissions in the world’s property are under the spotlight. In a decade of climate action, businesses in the industry have been tasked with overseeing dramatic changes in their contribution to climate change. Many are turning to their supply chain for the answers. Businesses that assist and supply other workplaces and properties must be astute to the changing landscape that puts sustainability front and centre of business strategy and make sure they are ready to meet the demands of a modern, sustainable business
To recertify next year NuServe must reduce emissions by 2.5%.
A 5% year-on-year reduction is the target reduction recommended by Planet Mark.
