Certification story

Creating a brighter future is what we are passionate about, and we make sure to always walking the walk. In 2020 we finalised our “Make the World of Difference” sustainability strategy with the vision to make Planet Mark the most easily-recognised sign of progress in sustainability.  The strategy has outlined the steps we need to take as a business to deliver our sustainability goals.

Carbon footprint reporting

Using the same rigorous method as each of our members, we measure our carbon footprint every year; ensuring that we meet our annual reduction targets. We’re also committed to completing our own Zeroby30 programme and will be net zero no later than 2030.

Social Value

Since 2017 we have been measuring and reporting our social value contributions, and have seen these increasing year-on-year as we have become more strategic in our procurement, pro-bono work, charity contributions and volunteering.

We are proud to announce that we’ve achieved a social value contribution of £469,992. This is the net social and environmental benefits to society generated by us. Our 2021 social value stretched across four categories: our people, community and volunteering, donations and procurement.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Planet Mark is committed to ensuring that diversity and wellbeing are integral foundations of the business and are at the forefront of everything we do. We pay our staff over and above the London Living Wage, and in 2019 we joined the Living Wage Foundation.

We also have registration as a Disability Confident employer and put processes in place that enable positive action. In addition to this, we have also become a member and advocate of the Mental Health Charter as a commitment to proactively talking about the importance of mental wellbeing in the workplace and reducing the stigma associated with this important topic.

We have also introduced qualified mental health first aiders that are embedded within the organisation to deliver internal training on the importance of mental wellbeing at work. Read our full Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement here.
