We engage our employees and wider stakeholders to unlock their talent and knowledge to drive year on year progress in sustainability.
We recognise that transparent communication is essential for transformational change and we quantifiably contribute to 6 SDGs.
Versapak, a UK based company manufacturing quality security and medical carriers used across a range of industries, has achieved certification to Planet Mark.
Achieving the Planet Mark is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in its business operations by measuring and reducing its carbon footprint and engaging its stakeholders.
Through Planet Mark, the company has protected an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.
It is also helping the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.
“I am so pleased with the progress that Versapak has made in the past year. The reductions in carbon footprint are an incredible feat, and represent a business that is set on making progressive change across the whole of its operations. These are exactly the type of businesses we need to create a future-ready economy. It is a pleasure to work with Versapak International and I look forward to helping create further sustainable progress.”
“We encourage all members of our team to scrutinise all business functions and always strive to reduce emissions associated with our business. These issues include – waste, water, building emissions, procurement, and travel. Reusable Products – Versapak bags can be reused over 2,000 times which makes them environmentally friendly compared with single-use alternatives.”
Caroline Atkinson added “We also take back any end of life Versapak bags and repurpose the material. Recyclable Products – Our energy-efficient, state of the art moulding machine melts down reclaimed, recycled material and reprocesses it to make our T2 Seals. We also operate a return and recycle scheme for our customers to return their used plastic seals and we will recycle them. Versapak is committed to managing the impact it has on the environment and is proud to work alongside Planet Mark to achieve this.”
Versapak is committed to managing the impact it has on the environment and so it designed the Versapak Sustainability strategy to identify, monitor and improve its sustainability. The company continually look for ways on how it does business with its customers, how it can implement initiatives with suppliers and how it conducts as a group. The Group’s Vision is to “Consider everything we do in business protects our world and ensures a future for us all!” and in doing so, heal, grow and prosper.
To recertify next year Versapak International Limited must reduce emissions by 2.5%.
A 5% year-on-year reduction is the target reduction recommended by Planet Mark.
