Wade Macdonald, supplier of recruitment solutions has achieved the Planet Mark certification. As a purpose-driven business with philanthropy at its core, Wade Macdonald wants to significantly increase its positive impact and hopes to encourage continual improvements within its community.
Achieving Planet Mark is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in its business operations by measuring and reducing its carbon footprint and engaging its stakeholders.
This is the company’s first year of carbon reporting with Planet Mark. Its total carbon footprint in the year ending December 2021 was 15.3 tCO2e and total carbon per employee was 1.1 tCO2e. Since certifying, Wade Macdonald has committed to reducing its emission by 5%.
Over the next year, the company will be working towards measuring and reducing its carbon emissions and sharing its journey with its community to inspire others. As part of its wider sustainability strategy, it has already implemented a ‘reduce, re-use, recycle’ policy to address its carbon emissions, energy consumption, and waste.
Through Planet Mark, Wade Macdonald has protected an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth directly supports the Asháninka community in Central Peru.
It has also helped the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.
As part of the Planet Mark certification, Wade Macdonald has committed to making a year-on-year reduction.
